Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose Flourish Together Therapy?

Our mission is to empower you to break free from the challenges that life presents. We firmly believe that with the right support and tools, genuine transformation is possible.
We recognize that the relationship between a client and therapist is the biggest tool in any therapy space and our therapists aim to be real and authentic. In addition, our therapeutic interventions are evidence-based and proven effective in addressing trauma, boosting confidence, fostering stronger relationships, and alleviating anxiety and depression.

Confidentiality

Therapists are required to keep everything you talk about confidential, meaning they won't share it with anyone. Laws like HIPAA and state regulations make sure therapists follow these rules. If a therapist breaks this confidentiality, they could get in trouble with licensing boards and clients can pursue legal action against the therapist.

However, there are a few situations where confidentiality might not apply. If someone is in danger of hurting themselves or others, or if the therapist suspects abuse of a child, older person, or someone with disabilities, they might need to report that information to keep everyone safe.

If you have more questions about confidentiality in therapy talk openly with your therapist to get the info you need.

Virtual Therapy

Your therapist will see you via the secure and HIPAA-compliant video chat through our patient portal, or through our backup HIPAA-compliant platform, doxy, which offers an alternative in the event of technology issues. To prepare for your telehealth session, please ensure that you are in a safe, quiet, and private location. Please do not drive during your session. Please ensure your therapist knows your physical location in the event of an emergency.

In Person Therapy

We offer in person appointments at 2040 W. Whispering Wind Dr. Suite 140 Phoenix, AZ 85085. The environment is thoughtfully designed to foster a sense of confidentiality and ease. In addition, it is wheelchair accessible. When you arrive you may wait in the waiting room until the time of your appointment and your therapist will be out to get you.

Scheduling

Our therapists each make their own schedules that work best for their work-life harmony. You can make an appointment by emailing your therapist or messaging them through the patient portal.

Please allow 24 hours’ advance notice of any cancellations, or a no-show/late cancellation fee may apply. Repeated cancellations/no shows may result in discharge. Frequency of your appointments will be determined with your therapist and are dependent on clinical need and availability.

How will I know if therapy is working?

Your therapist will work with you collaboratively to develop a treatment plan. The plan will include ways that you and your therapist will be able to measure progress over a specific period of time.

What if my therapist isn’t the right fit for me?

It's understandable to want to find the right therapeutic fit. Consider discussing a transfer to another clinician with your current therapist. Changing providers is common in therapy when a client feels it's needed. This is a normal request and does not indicate anything negative about the client or the therapist. The goal is simply to find the most appropriate care and support for you during this process. Reach out to your therapist first to explore transferring to someone who may be a better match within Flourish Together LLC.

Will I receive a mental health diagnosis?

If you are planning to use your insurance to pay for therapy, a mental health diagnosis is required. A diagnosis can also help with conceptualizing symptoms and creating a treatment plan to measure therapy progress toward alleviating those symptoms. If you have any questions about this process, please ask your therapist.
