We use a billing company called Alma to bill insurance. When you reach out to inquire about beginning therapy, we can use Alma to provide you an estimate of your out of pocket costs for therapy before you schedule with us. This takes only a few moments.

Insurance

Some health insurance plans do provide out of network benefits that can be applied to therapy. You can ask your insurance provider about using these benefits with an out-of-network therapist.

  • Out of network benefits usually reimburse a portion of the cost of therapy sessions.

  • We can provide you with a super bill that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement for therapy. A super bill outlines the services that you received with your therapist.

  • It is recommended that you contact your insurance company with specific questions and get pre-approval for using out of network benefits for therapy.

Some questions to ask your insurance company about using Out of Network benefits:

  • Do I have out-of-network benefits for mental health or therapy services under my current insurance plan?

  • What is the process to request pre-authorization or check eligibility for using my out-of-network benefits for a therapist?

  • Is there a limit on the number of out-of-network therapy sessions that are covered per year? Is there a maximum dollar amount that you will reimburse?

  • What percentage of therapy fees are covered for out-of-network providers? What will my copay or coinsurance responsibility be?

  • How and when can I submit claims for reimbursement if I see an out-of-network therapist?
