Helping Clinicians Flourish Through Mentorship
Our associate mentorship program is designed to help early-career clinicians develop the confidence, clinical judgment, and professional identity needed for long-term success in private practice.
This curriculum is not intended to be rigid or one-size-fits-all. Instead, it provides a thoughtful framework for growth while allowing space for each clinician’s unique interests, strengths, and therapeutic style to develop.
The Flourish Framework™
Six Pillars of Clinical Development
Core Areas of Development through Curriculum
-
Associates strengthen core therapy skills including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, case conceptualization, clinical documentation, and ethical decision-making.
-
Clinicians develop competency in trauma-informed care through training in nervous system regulation, attachment theory, dissociation, complex trauma, and trauma-informed assessment and treatment planning. The curriculum also explores the intersection of physical and mental health, with dedicated training on women's endocrine conditions and the ways medical health can influence emotional and psychological functioning.
-
Associates receive training in evidence-based and integrative approaches, including CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR-informed care, somatic interventions, parts-informed therapy, and relational approaches. Learning extends beyond didactic instruction-clinicians are expected to intentionally implement new interventions in session, reflect on their experiences during supervision and mentorship, and receive individualized feedback to strengthen clinical effectiveness. Associates are provided with additional resources, readings, and practical challenges designed to deepen competency, expand their therapeutic toolkit, and foster continual professional growth.
-
Effective therapy requires more than knowing interventions—it requires knowing when, why, and how to use them. Through individual supervision, group consultation, and ongoing mentorship, associates develop the clinical judgment needed to navigate the dynamic nature of therapy. As client presentations evolve in session, clinicians learn to recognize subtle shifts, adapt their approach with intention, tolerate uncertainty, and make thoughtful, evidence-informed decisions rather than relying on rigid treatment protocols. Our goal is to help associates become clinicians who can confidently think critically, respond flexibly, and lead the therapeutic process with purpose.
-
Great therapists don't all practice the same way—and we don't believe they should. Throughout the mentorship program, associates are encouraged to discover their authentic therapeutic style, identify populations and presenting concerns that energize them, and explore emerging areas of specialization. Through thoughtful reflection and supportive feedback, we help clinicians recognize both their natural strengths and the areas where growth is needed. Rather than approaching challenges from a place of criticism or deficiency, we view them as opportunities for development. Our mentorship emphasizes curiosity over judgment, helping associates build confidence, refine their clinical identity, and create a career that is both professionally fulfilling and personally sustainable.
-
Associates receive mentorship in the realities of private practice, including client retention, ethical marketing, caseload management, documentation standards, insurance awareness, professional communication, and sustainable clinical practice
-
We support associates in building a career that is emotionally sustainable through attention to burnout prevention, boundaries, consultation, time away from work, and healthy clinical pacing.

Mentorship around clinical confidence and professional development
A collaborative team environment focused on growth, not perfection
Our goal is not simply to help associates complete supervision hours. Our goal is to help clinicians become thoughtful, confident, ethical, and deeply effective therapists.
Our Philosophy
“We believe supervision should do more than satisfy licensure requirements—it should transform the way clinicians think.
Our mentorship is built on collaboration, curiosity, and intentional skill development. Rather than approaching challenges through a lens of deficiency, we ask thoughtful questions, consider multiple perspectives, and help associates develop the clinical judgment needed to navigate the complexities of real-world therapy.
We don't simply teach clinicians what to do—we teach them how to think.”

Meet Your Mentors
Emily Hines, MA, LPC
Founder, Clinical Director & AZBBHE Approved Supervisor
Arizona Program Supervisor
Emily Hines is the Founder and Clinical Director of Flourish Together Therapy, a private, woman-owned group practice. Her leadership is driven by a commitment to clinical excellence, intentional mentorship, and the development of thoughtful, highly skilled clinicians.
Although Emily maintains an active clinical caseload, supervision and professional development have become the primary focus of her career. She believes effective supervision extends far beyond meeting licensure requirements. Her mentorship model emphasizes clinical reasoning, practical application, reflective practice, and the development of sound clinical judgment - equipping associates to navigate the complexities of psychotherapy with increasing confidence and flexibility.
Emily's supervision philosophy is rooted in collaboration rather than criticism. She challenges associates to think critically, formulate multiple clinical hypotheses, and intentionally integrate theory into practice. Rather than relying on rigid protocols, clinicians are encouraged to develop the clinical discernment necessary to adapt thoughtfully as client presentations evolve. Supervision is approached as an active learning process in which knowledge is applied, refined, and strengthened through implementation, consultation, and ongoing feedback.
Emily's clinical interests include obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), mood disorders, trauma, and the intersection of medical and mental health. She has developed particular expertise in the psychological impact of complex medical conditions, including thyroid disorders, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). She is passionate about helping clinicians recognize how underlying medical conditions can influence assessment, diagnosis, case conceptualization, and treatment planning.
In addition to directing Flourish Together Therapy, Emily co-created and co-facilitates a comprehensive 40-hour Clinical Supervision Training Program designed to strengthen the effectiveness of clinical supervisors. Through both her mentorship program and supervision training, she is committed to advancing the quality of clinical supervision and preparing the next generation of therapists for ethical, competent, and sustainable practice.
Emily's goal is to cultivate clinicians who are not only technically proficient, but who possess the clinical judgment, confidence, and professional identity necessary to provide exceptional care throughout their careers.
